When I first talked with Chris McGrody I thought, I’m a man of limited means. I don’t think I can afford custom made furniture. But as I looked at samples of the excellent work he had done, an idea began to form in my mind. I had thought of buying a simple stool or bench at K-Mart or Wal-Mart to use as a meditation bench because I find the Lotus position difficult. Why not have one made the way I want it, I thought . It couldn’t cost that much. Chris took lots of time to help me plan the bench and even made a model out of plywood. As I have an affinity toward maple trees, I asked him if he could make it out of maple. The result was a simple but beautiful bench on which I can meditate aided by the spirit of the maple tree from which it was made. Thank-you Chris for your excellent work. It was worth every penny.
